Thanks to social media and the 24 hour news cycle, a celebrity‚Äôs job is never done. Last week, while they were busy plugging in their new projects and heading to business meetings, the stars did their best and most professional. As artists, their work clothes don’t have to conform to an office (or Zoom) dress code. Instead, it represents their public figures and personal brands.

For Megan Fox, that meant a modern twist to the power suit. Aughts fans will no doubt remember some of Fox’s sulther red carpet moments, but in Dion Lee’s structured tube blazer and Aritzia’s high-waisted vegan leather pants, she found a look that reflected her new atmosphere. Accessorized with a Saint Laurent mini-bag and barely visible gold chain, the minimalist outfit placed Fox in a new fashion (and chic) context.

As the host of American Idol, Katy Perry’s work uniform often comes close to cosplay. Over the years, she has sat in the judge’s chair, dressed in everything from a hand sanitizer costume to an Amelia Earhart-inspired flight suit. For this season’s premiere, however, Perry went for a (slightly) more down to earth look. In the latest look of Viktor and Rolf’s Fall / Winter 2020 couture presentation, Perry upped his kitsch repertoire without losing any fun. Made from fabric sourced from local suppliers in Amsterdam and vintage stock pieces from previous collections by designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, the belted coat was a prime example of haute couture’s current emphasis on sustainability. Covered in heaps of glittering pink, white and red hearts, it was a meme-worthy creation that suited Perry on a tee.

While the weekly tabloid headlines were obsessed with Kim Kardashian’s relationship status, the reality TV star-turned-entrepreneur kept her social media professional. Between updates on SKIMS ‘latest drop, Kardashian updated with a photo of herself looking serene at home in Jacquemus’ spring / summer 2021 crop top. A bold take on the button down with an integrated frame, the look was a power move that affirmed Kardashian’s modern CEO style and ability to control the narrative.
